Craig holds a Bachelor of Business (International Business), Bachelor of Laws and a Masters of Laws majoring in commercial law. The focus of Craig’s post graduate study was civil litigation, dispute resolution and mediation. Craig is fully qualified to represent his clients in immigration matters, being a registered migration agent (MARN 1910298).
In 2000 he joined the predecessor firm of Potts Lawyers as an articled clerk, following which he was admitted to practise in the Supreme Court of Queensland and High Court of Australia in 2002. From 2003 to mid-2008 Craig gained valuable experience working as a litigation lawyer at two of the largest litigation practices in Australia. He attained Senior Associate level at a top tier law firm, specialising in the fields of public and product liability, as well as professional indemnity and negligence.
Craig then returned to the Gold Coast to engage in the opportunity to be part of a more personable, agile law firm, and embark on the building of his litigation practice within Potts Lawyers.
During this time, Craig further developed his niche skills, working with multifaceted matters containing elements of both criminal law and civil litigation. Craig has obtained the technical expertise to manage complex civil litigation matters involving aspects white collar crime, resultant confiscation proceedings, and potential disciplinary implications upon professionals’ ability to continue practising in their chosen field.
He holds particular expertise in dealing with matters where a person must demonstrate they are “of good character” or a “fit and proper person” in various disciplinary matters, ranging from employment disputes (public and private sector), disputes with professional accreditation bodies and immigration disputes with the Department of Home Affairs.
Craig is confident and articulate, exercising an ethical and pragmatic approach to resolving disputes. A true advocate and expert negotiator, his strategic and technical guidance ensures best outcomes for his wide range of clients.
In his spare time, Craig enjoys boating out on the Broadwater, which often involves taking the dog for excursions to his favourite swimming spots, and spotting dolphins if lucky. Craig loves living the Gold Coast lifestyle, but also enjoys the occasional foodie sojourns to Brisbane when catching up with friends. When time permits, he is also keen to explore other cities around the world, learning their history and taking in their culture.
