Billy Gee – Criminal Lawyer

Billy Gee is a criminal lawyer based in our Gold Coast office. He has completed a double degree of Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at Griffith University. Following the completion of his bachelor degrees, Billy completed a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law and was admitted as a legal practitioner in the Supreme Court of Queensland.

While studying Billy had been garnering experience working as a law clerk in a Criminal law practice that involved some legal aid work, as well as volunteering with a local Community Legal, a legal centre that provides pro-bono legal services to those that have limited access to legal services.

These opportunities gave Billy the chance to experience the practical side of the law outside of the lecture theatres, and provided him the foundations of his legal knowledge, which he has further built upon.

Billy’s ambition was further bolstered during his studies, where he came to develop an understanding and appreciation of the nuances and complexities of Criminal Law. Ultimately it was the human element and the ability to provide real aid to those that needed it most that attracted Billy to Criminal Law. The legal system to the uninitiated can appear often resemble a looming cold and detached machine, and for most faced with it, it can seem daunting and cause trepidation and worry. Billy has always sought to be a guiding hand though these hard times, making sure that you understand each step along the way and are comfortable with the process. It is Billy’s steadfast belief that everybody should be able to have a fair go, no matter who you are.

In Billy’s down time, he enjoys having a laugh with friends, and unwinding with a bit of physical activity or a good book. Billy is an avid and eclectic reader with a particular passion for biographies. He regularly occasions the gym, and often enjoys a spot of swimming, basketball, or body surfing with mates. Being a life-long Gold Coaster, Billy has a special affinity for the beach, surf and the water.
