Mahtab is a Civil Litigation lawyer based in our Southport office.
Mahtab completed her Bachelor of Arts in English at the University of Ottawa, where she was awarded the Merit Scholarship for 4 consecutive semesters and graduated with Distinction. In 2023, she began her Juris Doctor at Bond University and graduated with First Class Honours. During her studies, Mahtab volunteered at the Gold Coast Community Legal Centre, which provides free legal advice on a variety of family law and domestic violence matters.
In August 2024, she was admitted as a solicitor in Queensland at the Supreme Court in Brisbane.
Mahtab has previous experience working with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions in Southport, and she is currently working closely with Jason Papoutsis, our senior associate in the Civil Litigation department. Her interest in the complexity of the law and her enthusiasm for legal research and advocacy has enabled Mahtab to advise clients on more complex issues arising in litigious disputes and administrative government decisions. Mahtab’s areas of focus at Potts Lawyers currently include civil litigation, employment law, workplace investigations, disciplinary law, reviews of administrative government decisions, defamation, and disputes generally.
