Isaac Power

Isaac Power is admitted as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of Queensland and specialises in criminal, traffic, and domestic violence law. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Economics and Political Science from the University of Queensland.

There, he was awarded the Dean’s Commendation for Academic Excellence, the TC Beirne School of Law Scholarship, and the Judge McGuire Scholarship.  He has also studied abroad at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, where he was awarded the Munkman Prize for the best performance in International Law.

A career in criminal law has always been the focus of Isaac’s professional development. This is what motivated him to accept a placement at YFS Legal, a community legal clinic that provides pro bono legal services to marginalised young offenders, particularly First Nations offenders. That experience has shaped Isaac’s understanding of criminal law and has instilled a passion for defence advocacy within him.

For Isaac, achieving the best possible outcome for the client is at the core of a lawyer’s job. He knows that achieving this requires technical knowledge, strategic thinking, and a personable character. Isaac embodies these traits in his advocacy, ensuring his clients can trust that their rights are being tenaciously defended.

Outside of work, Isaac is a well-traveled individual and enjoys meeting people from all over the world. Being raised on the Tweed Coast, he also enjoys spending as much time in the elements as possible, whether he’s hiking, fishing, swimming, or engaged in some other form of physical exercise.
