Court: Magistrates Court
Solicitor: Andrew Hanlon
Date: March 2018
Maximum Penalty: 3 years imprisonment
Overview:
Our client was charged with an offence of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle in circumstances where, following a heated argument, it was alleged he deliberately drove a vehicle at two people and hit them causing injuries.
After a careful analysis of the evidence relied upon by the prosecution, we were able to negotiate to have the charge reduced to one count of assault occasioning bodily harm in circumstances where our client was criminally negligent in his operation of the vehicle.
On a plea of guilty to the reduced charge our client was placed on a good behaviour bond and had no conviction recorded for the offence.
