Alleged Gunman In Court Tomorrow
THE man accused of a weekend drive-by shooting on the Gold Coast will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow, charged with a range of offences including attempted murder.
About 8.30pm yesterday Mahan Gheisari, 27 of Arundel, handed himself into police in relation to Saturday night’s shooting, which left a Coast woman with lacerations.
It is alleged Mr Gheisari shot a bullet through the rear window of a blue Holden Commodore travelling north on the M1 near Oxenford in an apparent road rage attack.
Police said it was lucky that no-one was killed as a result of the incident.
This morning Mr Gheisari’s solicitor, Mark Williams of Potts Lawyers, appeared in court on his behalf and had the matter adjourned until tomorrow, when Mr Gheisari will be required to appear.
It is expected he will apply for bail.
In addition to attempted murder, Mr Gheisari also faces charges of wilful damage, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, dangerous conduct with a weapon and unlawful possession of a weapon.
